RainLily's new identity highlights the journey of healing, transformation, and coexistence

healing, transformation, and coexistence

RainLily's new identity highlights the coexistence of a raindrop and six petals, symbolising the trauma of sexual violence and the lifelong process of healing; survivors' resilience and transformation in the journey to find justice; and the mutually supportive environment that we strive to build.

The story of rainlily

Established as Hong Kong's first sexual violence crisis centre in 2000, RainLily provides one-stop intervention support to female victim-survivors above the age of 14  around the clock. Support services include pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infections screening and treatment, forensic medical examination, psychological support and judicial procedures support (statement-taking and court hearing), etc. Every year, RainLily provides in-depth support to over 300 victim-survivors and handles over 2,000 requests for assistance.

Our work is only possible because of the trust of survivors. With bravery and perseverance, survivors share their experience to raise public awareness of sexual violence and speak up for the rights of other victims in hope that no one will experience sexual violence again in our society.

Though some may associate survivors of sexual violence with petals broken and ravaged by a storm, the delicate rain lily is able to brave a summer torrent, and stand strong in the tranquil breeze and gentle light that breaks forth after the storm.

Faqs

  • A drop of rain transforms into one of rain lily's petals, representing survivors' journey of healing and their voices that bring change to communities.

  • RainLily's name is increasingly well-known in the community throughout the years. However, it has not been easy to properly apply our old logo and identity for print and online use to accommodate our publicity needs, as well as highlighting our name in English. Through this rebrand, we wish to improve the identifiability of our logo, and reach more potential service users.

We thank the designers from DIPMAD for their professional service and support.

  • Thanks to certain supporters' generosity, the main expenses for this rebrand only involves gradually replacing letterheads, business cards, and pamphlets with environmental principles in mind.

  • RainLily was established by Association Concerning Sexual Violence Against Women in 2000 as Hong Kong's first sexual violence crisis centre. RainLily is currently independently incorporated under Companies Ordinance (3060744), and is recognised by the Inland Revenue Department as a charitable institution of a public character (91/17886). RainLily focuses on providing adequate support for victim-survivors of sexual violence.
