Hong Kong Women's Coalition on Equal Opportunities

 

Established in 1996, Hong Kong Women's Coalition on Equal Opportunities (the Coalition, or WCEO) is a joint task force that connects various women's groups and monitors the government's practice for gender equality in order to promote the development of the women's movement and achieve gender justice.


Mission

  • Support the principle of women's right on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Beijing Declaration and Programme of Action

  • Coordinate the women's organisations in Hong Kong to promote gender equality

  • Fight for women's right and advocate the relevant policy

  • Concern the situation of women

  • Promote the democracy, human right, and women's issue
